Best in Texas

Readers of Ride Texas Magazine have once again humbled me by awarding D'Rose Inn and Cabins the Best in Texas Readers' Choice Award. This year the catagory was Favorite Place to Stay in the Hill Country. 2009 marks the 4th consecutive year the Inn has been voted #1, and the 5th year the Inn was in the top 10. Making the decision to be lodging for motorcyclists and bicyclists only was a difficult one but the decision is still the best one I've made.

What a beautiful warm Texas day! Temps were in the mid 60s at 7:30 this morning.

The winter has me sleeping more, laughing more, working less, running again, reading and quilting. But yes, I'm still working. The (motorcycle) riding season is just around the corner and when I return from vacation, my time will be spent doing taxes and getting cabins ready for the year.

Texas Hill Country Fall

What a beautiful day! A light breeze blowing, in the 80s and life is good. I'm blessed to live in one of the most beautiful areas of Texas.

WOW! Yesterday I celebrated 3 years of having a lodging property for motorcyclists and bicyclists only! AND, this weekend I was able to ride for the first time since March. Having friends ride ahead and wait for me even made it more fun, because the hills were almost mine and mine alone with the luxury of having friends wait at the crossroads. We had breakfast, stopped for snacks and just had a wonderful time.

Now on to the training. Training got off track a bit, but now it is back on track. Slow but sure, but the goal is to finish, not break any records.
